Reiki is a gentle, subtle, yet powerful energetic modality that can be supportive on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels. During a private session, the client is fully clothed while comfortably lying down on a massage table. Reiki is facilitated by incorporating light touch and above the body work for clearing and balancing throughout the session. Each session is unique and many clients feel a deep sense of relaxation during and after a session.
Reiki is often used as a complementary therapy for those who are being medically treated for conditions such as cancer, chronic pain, neurodegenerative disorders, heart disease, anxiety, depression and autoimmune disorders (not an exhaustive list!). And consumer demand continues to increase as more patients are seeking non-invasive, complementary options that can promote relaxation, reduce stress and facilitate an overall sense of well-being. Although Reiki fits that bill quite well, it's important to note that Reiki should not be used in place of medical treatment.
Gail's first experience with Reiki years ago was transformative and calming. Not really being familiar with the exact nature of Reiki or what to expect, there was a bit of trepidation felt before the session. During the session, the sense of being truly 'listened to' even though no words were exchanged, and feeling seen and understood on a deeply personal level (that knew no time or space), made the experience completely worthwhile and sparked the desire to learn more about Reiki/energy medicine and become attuned to levels one, two and finally master level certification.
